Emerald Freight Express was established in 1981 and has grown to be Ireland’s premier independent Freight Forwarder, operating a full range of multi modal transportation and 3PL Services.

The company was established in 1981 by Owen O'Brien & Tom Freeney.
1983Achieved IATA license
1985Purchased Santry Hall Terminal
Emerald Freight Express moved from Church Road Santry into Santry Hall Industrial Estate.
1997Secured EU Road haulage License

2002Certified as Approved Forwarder under EU Air Cargo Security Regulations
Air Freight Security became extremely critical so it was important that Emerald received this certification.
2006Our CEO elected president of the Irish International Freight Association (IIFA)
Mr Owen O'Brien becomes the President of the Irish International Freight Association, Owen is a well known expert in the Irish Freight Industry.
AEO status is a certified standard issued by customs administrations in the EU. It certifies that a business has met certain standards in relation to their security, management systems, compliance with customs rules and ongoing solvency
