Our History
Emerald Freight Express was established in 1981 and has grown to be Ireland’s premier independent Freight Forwarder, operating a full range of multi modal transportation and 3PL Services.
2019 marks our 38th year in business and our success is achieved with a special focus on customer care and a traditional “Hands On” style of management, which continues to meet our customers’ service demands on a daily basis.
Our Customer Service Team at Emerald are inspired and passionate to serve our clients and overseas Agents.
We aspire to achieve “best in class” status with our customers and overseas agents. We pride ourselves on Irish friendship and a faithful tradition to deliver a quality service around the clock. In truth, it’s our people and our passion to make things happen that sets us apart from our competitors, and we never lose sight of this reality.
Emerald Freight Express continues to invest in our IT capability to ensure that we’re at the cutting edge of new technology in order to advance the management of our operating systems and to enhance the quality of service to our customers and overseas Agents.
We can meet any challenge to attain the benchmark and KPIs as dictated by our clients, this is assured by a Service Level Agreement (SLA) and a Quarterly Business Review (QBR) at our clients’ discretion.

Purchased Santry Hall TerminalEmerald Freight Express moved from Church Road Santry into Santry Hall Industrial Estate.

Certified as Approved Forwarder under EU Air Cargo Security RegulationsAir Freight Security became extremely critical so it was important that Emerald received this certification.

Our CEO elected president of the Irish International Freight Association (IIFA)Mr Owen O'Brien becomes the President of the Irish International Freight Association, Owen is a well known expert in the Irish Freight Industry.

AEO CertificationAEO status is a certified standard issued by customs administrations in the EU. It certifies that a business has met certain standards in relation to their security, management systems, compliance with customs rules and ongoing solvency
