Shortly before Christmas, Milan based Cargoitalia ceased all its operations due to mounting financial losses, and teh company is set to be dissolved and liquated. The company ceased all operations on December 21st, 2011.
Cargoitalia fleet of MD-11’s have been grounded since December 21st, 2011. The company put down its dramatic demise to a slump in global demand, which led initially to routes being cut, and then to its eventual bankruptcy.
